Dirty Tricks From Green Party In An Attempt to Mislead Voters

Green Party campaign tactics have reached a new low in a leaflet delivered to residents in Kingshurst and Fordbridge. The Green Party’s tactics include: a) Using pictures of Green Party Councillors to give the impression that their candidate is being supported by local people. The front page of their latest leaflet has a ½ page […]

Litter & Fly-tipping – Enforcement Needed

Solihull Council has hit the headlines over the last few days for failing to issue a single fine for dropping litter in 2020/21. This compares to 77 fixed penalty notices in 2019/20. They claim that the lack of enforcement is due a decision to prioritise the Council’s public health response to Covid. It is hard […]

DON’T BE MISLED BY COVID DENIERS

SAY NO TO COVID-DENIERS – GET YOUR COVID JAB AND FOLLOW RESTRICTIONS This weekend saw Covid-deniers distributing leaflets in Kingshurst containing false information about the impact of Covid. Councillor Flo Nash said: ‘The falsehoods contained in this leaflet could put our fight against Covid at real risk. That would be wrong anywhere but to distribute […]

Our party branch covers North Solihull council wards of Castle Bromwich and Smiths Wood that extends to include the north trees area of Kingshurst. Local Authority profiles say that Castle Bromwich is moderately affluent but that Smiths Wood is in the most 20% deprived of neighbourhoods in the country. The Birds North and South, The Rivers and The Islands are in the most 10% deprived nationally (see link to ward profiles below). Each ward elects three councillors to represent us on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and both wards are also part of Meriden Parliamentary Constituency.

Our Branch has 65 members and we aim to meet at least 6 times a year but have not been able to recently due to Covid. Meetings usually comprise some brief formal business, before moving onto a guest speaker and/or discussion of some aspect of Labour Party policy, or current issues of local or national importance. Everyone’s views are welcome and we have lively, respectful and stimulating discussions.

Campaigning

We are active in all aspects of Labour Party campaigns: writing and designing leaflets; social media; leaflet distribution; staffing stalls; canvassing and meeting residents on the doorstep and at school gates; telephone canvassing; campaigning on local and national issues and much more. There is something for everyone. So, if you want to discuss how you might get involved, please do contact our branch Secretary, details below:
