Although Solihull is one of the richest boroughs in the country, it also has some of the greatest levels of inequality. Too many people scrape by on poverty wages; too many of our young people have to leave Solihull to find affordable housing. Public services have been in decline. Many of our elderly are isolated and lonely. Solihull deserves better.
The way that communities are rallying to support each other during the Covid-19 crisis shows that many people agree that there is a need for #FairDealSolihull and that we must rebuild in a way that puts people and communities before profit. If you agree, please get involved in our campaigns and activities.
Standing for the ward of Chelmsley Wood is Hazel Dawkins; a passionate and dedicated young woman who champions Chelmsley Wood and campaigns locally on a variety of issues such as fly-tipping, housing developments, housing issues and much more.
Hazel is also one of the local town Councillors for Chelmsley Wood and has extensive knowledge of the local issues in the area due to being a young parent of two children, 7 and under, one of whom has some disabilities.
Hazel says “The reduced funding for Dial in Kingshurst and the Citizens Advice Bureau will affect the local residents and I am appalled at the way the council have conducted themselves. Change at the council is needed so services like this can continue. I have been a service user of both so can relate to you all.”
A vote for Hazel in May will help provide the change Chelmsley Wood needs.
