About Us

Although Solihull is one of the richest boroughs in the country, it also has some of the greatest levels of inequality. Too many people scrape by on poverty wages; too many of our young people have to leave Solihull to find affordable housing. Public services have been in decline. Many of our elderly are isolated and lonely. Solihull deserves better.

The way that communities are rallying to support each other during the Covid-19 crisis shows that many people agree that there is a need for #FairDealSolihull and that we must rebuild in a way that puts people and communities before profit. If you agree, please get involved in our campaigns and activities.

We are delighted that 3 of our candidates at this year’s Council elections will be sponsored by our sister party the Co-operative Party. Janet Marsh (Silhill), Nick Stephens (Lyndon) and Martin Tolman (Blythe) will all be standing as our joint Labour and Co-op Party candidates under a long-standing agreement between the 2 parties.

Solihull's Co-op Candidates

The Co-op Party is the political wing of the co-operative movement believing in the sharing of wealth and power through democratic ownership of utilities and public services. Notable recent campaigns, led by the Co-op Party, have included fighting Modern Day Slavery, protecting our shop-workers and regulating pay-day lenders. More information on the Co-op Party can be found at https://party.coop/about/

If elected our Co-op sponsored candidates will work with residents in Solihull to give them a real say in how local services are delivered, working with hundreds of other Co-op party Councillors throughout Britain.
