About Us

Although Solihull is one of the richest boroughs in the country, it also has some of the greatest levels of inequality. Too many people scrape by on poverty wages; too many of our young people have to leave Solihull to find affordable housing. Public services have been in decline. Many of our elderly are isolated and lonely. Solihull deserves better.

The way that communities are rallying to support each other during the Covid-19 crisis shows that many people agree that there is a need for #FairDealSolihull and that we must rebuild in a way that puts people and communities before profit. If you agree, please get involved in our campaigns and activities.

Shirley East candidate Deon Bailey believes in giving back, and has a range of skills which he’s happy to use to benefit others.

Head up to Stratford Road and you may find him in the PDSA shop. Take a trip to Highbury Hall in Moseley and you might spot him around the grounds doing woodland management.  He has recently started work as a studio technician at a community pottery in Birmingham, and he is a regular at Friends Of Shirley Park litter picking sessions.

Winning a seat on the council would enable Deon to make even more of a difference to the lives of residents across Shirley. So, next time you see him, give him a wave, and at next year’s election, give him your vote!
